Clan Blackhammer got its name from its revered ancestor Hudrik Blackhammer. The clan origionally lived within Karak Eight Peaks and went by the name Stonehammer, when the time of troubles came Hudrik was a smith, but also a veteran of the war of vengeance. When the Skaven attacked he defended the clan forges; his hammer was stained black with the blood of the Skaven he killed. Taking up his hammer he joined the defence and while he lived he was the bane of the Skaven. He was last seen leading a counterattack agaisnt a Skaven army; the attack was overwhelmed and he went down fighting. When the hold was abandoned the few surviviors stumbled out. An oath of vengeance was taken by the survivors to make the Skaven pay for their atrocities; to note this their clan name was then changed to Blackhammer.

The temple is lavishly decorated and carved with sscenes from ancient Dwarf myths. At the far end of the temple, statues of Grungni stand on either side of the dais, upon which stands a throne flanked by two lecterns. Stone pews are arranged in neat rows in front of the dais.

Grimnar is the god of war, and the god of the slayers. All who take the slayer oath come here.

The temple of Griminar stands as a reminder of dwarven will power and the lengths that a true dwarf should do too when a grudge must be avenged. As such it is dominated by the tale of Griminr's travel to the chaos wastes. The walls are carved with reliefs depciting the deeds of Griminir on his journey, as told by the returning Morgrim. At the back of the temple is a great arch that leads no where. Everything seems to come towards it. It is there that the high priest gives his sermons. The arch represents Griminir's decent into the chaos wastes. The arch has no decoration, but it is jet black, as is the wall behind it. It is a solumn site to any who has spent the time reading of his journey.

The other statue shows her in a mail coat and helmet with a shield held before her and her axe raised. Fresoces on the walls depict scenes from dwarf life.
