Madruk Mountaintamer's Lumber yard is a sprawling area with many buildings ranging from vast store rooms to small huts. For the most part these buildings are made from wood, since it is obviously readily available and easy to replace.
Besides the buildings, are large piles of wood ready for processing, a paddock for the cart ponies, stone buildings with large intricate locks to house the expensive equipment and machinery, and in the center on a large hill, Madruk's office (built in stone).
Madruk is a keen businessman, and he uses all manner of techniques to get the very best from his resources, workforce, (mostly poor humans who need the money) and his niche in the market. He has invested greatly in many new devices to reduce the amount of workers required, and allow those he does employ to work faster.
None of the spare wood is wasted, if any is left unsold, or damaged to make it unsellable, it is efficiently dried out and used to fuel the fires of his steam powered
"disembarking" machines.
Madruk's office is set upon a large hill so he can overlook the whole mill at all times, he has windows on all sides and can usually be found pondering prices, deals and faulty machinery at his desk.
Madruk is a well off dwarf, and always wears fine clothes, ever has a well trimmed and braided beard, and always wears his precise gold watch. When Madruk is seen walking about the mill, he is usually looking around at his workers, then looking at his watch,
usually he finds the workers need "encouraging" and barks at them until they work to a satisfactory standard/pace/efficiency.
