Barek face lit up with mirth at the mention of ale. He was glad to be able to both uncover more of the history of his Uncle and drink some fine dwarven ale.
Ach I can nay turn down the offer o' good dwarven ale!
Barek followed the old man and patted Throndin on the back as they walked.
I know ye feelings with ale Throndin, but I must say, this is a time when drinking is to be 'ad by all. And I must say if we are nay safe with the elders of this clan I can nay think of any other place that is safe. Besides, what better whay can we learn of the 'istory of me Uncle. 'e must 'ave 'ad great dealings with the people of Kazad Dawr. And we may even be able to learn a bit of ye family's 'istory from dwarves that fought beside ye father.
Barek let out a loud bark of a laugh and slapped Throndin's back. Besides lad! When dwarves and ale are togther there will be a good time for all!

The dwarfs walked into a largish room, which was dimly lit by a hearth which burned in the centre of a large rectangular table.
In many ways the hall was a little like a minature dwarf hall, but the clan was not as wealthy as some others, and the walls where mostly unadorned save for a bust of the ancestor Azanul and the clan coat of arms on a sheild with an axe and a crossbow crossing behind it.
The room was modest, humble but proud, and very functional, indeed the table could be extended or shortend by adding or taking away sections depending on how many dwarfs where sitting at it. Currently the table was large enough for eight dwarfs.
Two dwarfs already sat down with their ale mugs before them and a large crate of ale on the corner using the cold stone to keep cool.
Tarrik ushered the guests into the room, and drew his own tankard from his belt eagerly ready to fill it. "Your not lieing boy! So lets get drinking! Ye will have to ask old gavin tae sing the song Kadrik wrote aboot Thorin!"
Tarrik filled his tankard and took a seat. "Dae ye have your own tankards or would ye like us to find ye some? Tis a Spangelhelm tradition to have your own ye see."

Throndin seemed more solum than usual, if he went by his usual doings he would have been one of the first around the table eager to listen to the clan stories and song from the clan bards. It seemed he was deep in thought as if something a memory had suddenly come upon him.
"Dae ye have your own tankards or would ye like us to find ye some? Tis a Spangelhelm tradition to have your own ye see." Tarik said, as he filled his own and took a seat at the table.
Throndin reached into his pack and pulled out a tankard of pewter, battered with a few dents in places but still useable,I have my own sir, I have heard of your traditions talked thoughout the hold. You seem to keep lots of the old traditions quiet well used from what I heard.

Barek reached into his pack and produced a takard that was made of solid metal and bore the Clan Thorgison symbol.
Aye, me father gifted me with this mug. I have bore it with ever sense, it 'as served well in drinking.......and fighting. he said with a little chuckle.

"Aye, we do Throndin, ye see, our clan has a history of wandering to settle grudges. When you are a ranger an don't see home often, old traditions are some of the best way tae preserve your identity."
Tarik smiled at the boys who both had good tankards, he was pleased, it was a good sign that these fellows already had flasks of their own, and he foresaw they were/would grow to do great things.
Once the boys had filled their tankards with the brew, (a fine stout recipe from Karak Norn) and sat down, it was not long before the other dwarf elders, came into the room.
There was Tarrik with his old grey beard and blue robes with a brown trim. He stood up and introduced the two newcomers lads to the elders, and then explained how Barek had saved Lokri from the bandits, and how Throndin and Barek together had helped take the lesson. Then he asked the other elders to introduce themselves...
Firstly, a kingly looking dwarf with a magnificant beard, and a heavy stern voice. This dwarf sat at the head of the table and wore purple trim on his blue robes. "Hail freinds, I am Gavin Spangelhelm, I am the eldest among the clan, and so I am in charge of the appointment of the work between the clan members."
Then, eagerly, an old dwarf whos ginger beard had now almost turned to white stood up and smiled. "Orodrik is my name, I am father to Lokri, and I thank ye for what ye have done",
The two younger dwarfs, but still both of a fine age with flowing bluegrey beards tucked into their belts, and fresh faces Fredrik Heldrikson at your service and Hendrik Heldrikson at your families. Butted in Hendrik Spangelhelm abruptly.
All in all this was alot to take in.
[ooc: No need to explain the fighting again since we have done it to death, so we shall get into some new ground]

The drinks came fast and the challenges to outdrink came even faster. All the dwarfs were well into there drinks when Barek produced a worn leather bound bok and a writing pen, he flipped threw the pages that held plenty of Khazalid writing before he setteled on a page that was about half full. He turned to Tarik and addresed him
Ach Tarik, I 'ave to ask ye, what do ye know of me Uncle Thorin, what 'as 'e done for the 'old? Is there anything ye can tell me of what ye know of'im before 'e died, or 'ow 'e died?

As Barek spoke, a slight hush fell unto the room. The old dwarfs grew quiet, and Tarrik nodded slowly, looked to the others who returned his sombre gaze. "Aye Barek, we will tell you all we know, but I have a feelin' that our greatest service to you, shall be to provide you with shelter and point you in the right direction on your quest. For among our clan, few had the honour of your uncle's company.
However, Thane Kadrik documented on many of the great deeds of his companion who he encountered during his coming of age. For this, I must turn to our sage..." Tarrik said, and implored Gavin to speak. Gavin took a sip from his mug and nodded.

At the mention of Barek's uncle, throndin turned to await the response of the Spangelhelm eldars. In which they did not disapoint but instead, seemed like either a song or tale would be told at great length. throndin took sip of his ale to try and quell the anticipation in his body. Throndin loved tales of heros, even known better as some of those were near to his life time, and was himself determined to follow in their footpaths.

The room grew dim, the fire bloomed as a mountain blossom then began to shrivel back to its roots as it died down. As the light faltered, the dwarf elders took their draughts of ale, and began to sing a saga of the clan, written long ago by the dwarf Kadrik. They sung in low rolling voices, and indeed, were very good signers, traditional style dwarf singing of the highest caliber.
O'er the hills an dales he came A beardlin' trollslayer o' little fame Aye his beard dyed orange as a burnin' sun The beardlin' Trollslayer called Thorgison!
He told nay the story, of why he took the oath But he soon sought out truely, the death he betroth Why intae the mines he boldly did tread Where lesser wee lads, would fill up wi' dread Aye terror caught on through the vile skaven nest When their blades glances off, Thorin's great chest
Aye Thorin did travel, in his rising fame intae the mountains, the greenskins to tame Many a grobi did meet what was due When Thorin Thorgison's axe head was drew!
Trollslayer he was and he fought with distain but ne'er did it seem he would find himself slain An' e'er more grim did he grow by the day
O Thorin did fight in the first Kazad Dawr siege He fought for Lance Starbreaker our lord and liege The trolls did he master, the goblins he slain Till straight from the shaman waaagh magic did rain Thorin and Grundi did seek out the foe Though Grundi was slain by a dastardly blow Thorin did repay the shaman for his deeds By cleaving his head when he fell to his knees!
For his part in the war, when his presence was made King Lance did gift Thorin with a worthier blade An axe was he gifted, a weapon of old Fashioned in finest gromril and shining gold
Once goblins were broken,Thorin's fate not yet sealed, The skaven made our home another battle field Twas in the clan homes where they rose from the deep Did Thorin Thogrison again earn his keep Desperate now to find his own doom Thorin's body lusted to lie in a tomb
So Thorin, with anger at his hanging oath Sought mightier opponents than were found in hold Unto the mountains did he forge his way To the tainted lands he came, on Amaldrax' day
The last test of mettle that Thorin had took Was to battle the daemon named Grish'zlathuk O sadness and joy, for we Honor our Friend at the hand of the Bloodthirster did he meet his end...
The dwarfs grew quiet again, as the sang the song with both pride and sorrow at the achievements of the great slayer who finally found his doom at the hands of such a terrible foe. The hall became silent again with the grim voices rebounding off the solid walls.
[ooc: Now I understand that I may have missed large parts thorin may have played in the doomstones campaign, but I did not take part in that so do not know what happened, so barek please feel free to fill pm me with any gaps plus extras]

As the dwarf eldars sang their song, Throndin closed his eyes and let his mind wander through the mists and vales of time itself to see the mightly slayer fighting, killing huge creatures with single strokes and conquering terrible foes, until dissappearing into the darkness fighting a creature of the ancient chaos gods.
As the song finished throndin opened his eyes once more, the room seemed to have a different presence to it, one of both pride and sorrow. He took a sip of his ale and turned to Barek to see how the song had touched him and what he had learned.

ooc: sorry for the delay....d**n college!!
IC:
Barek felt as if he was pulled into the song and stood by his uncle at that very moment. He copuld almost here the battle roar and witness the terrible fury that was to behold. Something tugged at the very core of his being and he felt like he was being given witness to something he could not fully comprehend.
The tale ended and Barek hand ached as it finished off recording what was said. He was silent and contemplated all the information that he had heard now. The song had moved him deeply and there was a slight glistening in his eyes that he quickly willed away.
Barek stood from his chair and lifted his tankard to the gathering Ach I thank ye for what ye have done. I can na' say how much this means to me and me clan. From this day foward I swear an oath before the Gods on me family name and the 'onor of me clan that if the Clan Spanglehelm is ever in need, that the Clan o' Thorgison shall forever be ye allies and will march by your side in war till the days the Gods themselves walk this world once again.
With that Barek tossed back his head and drained his tankard in a salute to the memory of his Uncle and the future of the two clans.

ooc: absolutely no worries mate bic: The old dwarfs looked conspicuously at this young lad who made a mighty pledge, an oath that should not lightly be made, but then this dwarfs lineage was a sign that his word could be trusted. "Aye, twill be a long time afore your clan can reach us here in Kazad Dawr ma boy, but then of course there is you here I suppose. We accept your oath and shall affirm it in our histories that from this day on wards, our two clans are forever at the beckon of each other."

IC: Barek nodded in agreement to the clan elder. Ach, I thank ye once again. This service will nay be forgotten by me family. But I am surprised that Lokri has yet to return. Tho 'e was wounded I nay thought it was that serious. Perhaps you would 'ave me go to see 'im? Also it would let me check up on some of 'is students that took some 'ard 'its today when I trained them in 'is stead.
