The Quarry itself is situated in a corrie, a glacial trough. It is surrounded by valley walls on three sides, on top of which the ramparts are built. The ramparts run on the east north and west sides of the quarry, with crossbow towers every 30 meters.
On the south side of the quarry, the valley sides become flatter, and it is possible to enter the quarry. In this natural entrance, Bar-Duraz, or Stonegate.
Directly behind stonegate, is a large reception area, in the form of a courtyard. Here visitors are greeted, and comerce is performed.
On the western valley wall, is the quarry floor, where the main excavation is taking place. The quarry floor is now a full 50 feet bellow the courtyard and the guild housing. On the sides of the quarry are a multitude of ladders, cranes and even a few steam lifts.
In the northern face, Thane Kadrik I's abode can be found, with a great balcony hanging over the courtyard and overlooking his lands. The palace is converted from the old guildhall, and so the great guildhouse has been converted into a series of corridoors. Along most of the coridoors, the upper and least expensive guild housing is found, but one coridoor leads underground, towards Thane Karu's underground palacial district.
