Barek came marching up the long road, his kite sheild swung over his back caught the sunlight in a gliterring cascade that reflected the Thorgison crest, his axe propped over his shoulder also bore the Clan mark of Thorgison. He also carried a fine dwarven crossbow that hung from its strap accross his chest. Their was a bright twinkle in his eye as he set his sight on the mighty gates to Kazad Dawr. His cheeks had a roseyness to them as he sang out loud. .....and the elf fell down dead!.....Three drunken dwarfs and a pile of gold. Buahahah.
As Barek reached the gates he called out, Hale good dwarf. I have traveled many leagues and searched far and wide and I have found my way way to your great Hold. I bid ye to let me enter so that I may taste ye Holds great ale.

"Kinsmen ye say?" the gate keeperer replied as he walked over to the gate's controls and started entiring the proper combination before turning around half way through, "What be ye clan an' kin's name laddy? Mayhaps I could o' help findin' 'em aye?"

The young Barek traced his eyes over the giant gate as he talked to the gatekeeper.

"Grimnir's Beard!" the gate keeper spat out as the door swung open and he truned back around to face the Barek, "Laddy, I gots good news an' bad news for ye." he stated matter of factly as he looked the tunnel fighter square in the eyes, "Ye uncle, took the slayer oath nearly hundred a year ago, got himself a good an' proper hon'rable death too! Sayin' is he died fightin' one of them big deamon bastichs in the tainted lands. Course them be nay survivers from the scourging, who could confirm the story aye... 'cept for... uhm nay ye mind... ye probably would nae want tae know..." the old dwarf trailed off as he took a step back to let Barek pass through.

Stopping in his tracks the moment he heard the gate keepers response. Barek turned to him and locked his golden eyes with the gate keeper's in a deathly stare.
In a voice that lacked all merryiment and mirth and could freeze a dwarven forge, I thank ye for this information....but who knows of my Uncle's final moments so that I may confer it to my father?

"Ye sure ye wish tae know?" the gatekeepr replied in a serious fashion as he looked the young dwarf square in the eyes not really impressed by his 'imposing' tone, then continued as he saw Barek nod in agreement; "Do nae say I did nae warn ye lad..." the dwarf continued before pausing for a second to regain his composure, "There be just one surviver from the scourging left alive aye? None of the dwarves who took part ever came out 'live...but then again the lot o' 'em were slayers so it's nay a bad thing, and all them umgi who did make through died off a few decades ago short lived that them weaklings are... If ye want tae know just what happened tae yer uncle, ye'll be needin' tae head o'er tae the palace in Yetzinburg... The elgi prince be the one who lead the scourging, if ye uncle was half as good as his reputation made 'im out tae be Caldath should know exactly what happened tae him aye... course I doubt the fey bastich would bother seein' ye what with ye bein' of the "unimpressive" lot..."

Thinking over the implied statement and also the thought of haveing to seek out one of the fey beardclippers, Aye I thank ye.....I shall persue after this d**ned elgi but as this was the Hold that last saw me Uncle I shall first persue what history he may have had with 'ere.
Barek glanced out into the dying light of the day before turning back....his usal merryiment now returned, Ach tonight I shall drink to yer honor good keeper. I thank ye for yer help.
With that Barek marched into the Hold of Kazad Dawr to further persue his quest. Already he was whistleing a bawdy tune.

The gatekeeper chuckled to himself as he returned to his post, that young lad was in for quite a shock if he thought he'd be pursuing Caldath over anything. "Then good luck tae ye lad... ye'll need it..." the sour old dwarf replied with a hint of amuzement in his voice, even if by some miracle Barek got into the palace grounds, he'd be in for a rude awakening if ever he was stupid enough to challenge the fey prince.
