Barek left the Tavern behind him deep in thought. His hatred for all Chaos ran deep inside him, something his father had imparted on him with the tale of the Hold. The hatred he felt for Chaos felt like in was inside his very bones and he cursed it with every fibre of his being.
Mumbling to himself, Barek wandered through the Bazaar he glanced around occasionaly only giving half an eye to the wares presented. He saw a dwarf stall that was selling crossbows and crossbow ammo. Midly interested he changed his meandering path to heads towards the stall as he continued to think.

Lokri marched on into the bazaar with a song in his heart, proud, joyous, strong of spirits, he superlatively strode without a care for those who saw he was of high spirits. His stomach, though not bloated, was firmly filled with his ravishing meal, and the heat from his food warmed his body from the inside out-wards.
Perhaps today would be a good day, even a great day, since time seemed to flow into one underground daylight hours meant little, but Lokri had a feeling before the next sun rose, something important would have happened. He turned the corner, deciding now was a good time to check on the stall, rather than go back to the baracks... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Lokri vs 6 Tilean thugs (using the stats for Bandits and one Bandit chief armed with daggers and no bows) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 Tilean thugs charge at Lokri from behind, catching him off balance, (double weapon skill, double damage)
Round 1, Tilean attacks: 2 hits one to body one to left arm, 3x2+3+1-9=1wound to arm, 4x2+3+1-9= 3wounds to body
Lokri:unable to attack, draws axe and shield, turns to face foes
Lokri has 6 wounds till zero Bandits still have 7...
Round 2, Lokri attack first due to higher initiative: 2 hits, to attackers head, 4+4+1-4= 5, 2+4+1-4=3, 8 wounds to bandit, 1 dead bandit
Tilean's attacks: 1 hit, to head, 6+3+1-9 =1 wound to Lokri's pretty face
Lokri 5 wounds till zero 1 bandit dead 2 left in combat, 3 left to charge next turn
Round 3 Lokri winning combat, but 2 more Tileans, and their Chief, charge in...
Tilean Cheif attack first due to initiative: unfortunately misses Lokri attacks back: 2 hits to Tilean cheif body, 5+5-4=6, 5+5-4=6, 12 wounds to Tilean cheif, Manfredi is now Man-deadi 4 Tilean's attacks 2 hits to head 1 hit to left leg, 1 dodged, 6+3+3+1-9= 2 wounds to Lokris head, 6+1+1-9=0 wounds to Lokri's leg.
Lokri surrounded by 4 Tilean's, Lokri 3 wounds till Zero Tilean's full wounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Lokri suddenly felt himself winded as a dagger was thrust into his back, his chain shirt taking much of the force, but none the less being knocked forward in amazement, he turned round to see his attackers noticing his left arm had also been slashed by the treacherous manlings. However, now the old dwarf was aware of their assault, he drew his axe and shield, battering down the wretch who dared get close enough to stab him in the back. The mans skull caved in an his body collapsed to the floor still writhing in pain as Lokri struck twice onto his olive skinned face. In answer, a Tilean came at Lokri, slicing a line down the dwarfs face, before nimbly if dishonorably retreating back. Then Manfredi and the others came forth, all with daggers gleaming in the darkness, Lokri recognized the wretch automatically, and strode towards him in challenge, the Tilean struck at Lokri, but the dwarf made him pay for his folly, soon he too was lieing broken on the floor. However, the assassins did not stop with the death of their leader, oh no, they came in for the kill, slashing at Lokri like a pack of wolves as he desperately tried to return to his posture. Things were looking ill for the engineer...

Barek was broken from his brooding thoughts by the sudden death cry of what sounded to be a human. Barek whipped his head around searching for the location that the cry emanated from already drawing his axe and sheild. A mob of custoemrs and merchants flooded away from one spot were the osund of metal on metal resounded.
Barek took off thowards the comotion his senses tingling like mad warning him of the imminent combat.......Barek breached the sea of people to come to a sceen of death and combat. 4 manlings were moveing to surround a dwarf, which came to a surprise to Barek as beign Lokri the engineer he had met in the tavern before takeing off.
Seeing that Lokri was nearly surrounded Barek let loose a warcry and charged two of the tileans attempting to get around behind Lokri.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Lokri + Barek vs 4 tilean thugs (Barek vs 2 tilean thugs) Barek chargeing rear of 2 tileans (double weapon skill, double damage).
------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 1 Barek: 2 hits to skull. 12w (4+5+1-3-1x2), 14w (5+5+1-3-1x2). 2 Tilean's dead.
Lokri: 3 wounds till zero Barek: 8 wounds to zero (unharmed) 2 tileans: 7 wounds to zero (unharmed)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Barek barreled into the legs on the rear Tilean and brought his axe down in a viscious strike that ended with an audible 'thunk' into the tileans skull that ended with a dead body in a rapidly forming pool of blood, Barek smoothly pulled his axe out of the the tileans skull not missing a stride as he swung his sheild low catching the second unware assasin behind the legs causing him to fall over backwards. Barek brought his axe down a second time catching the human full in the face and splitting the mans skull into two pieces.
Barek ended his charge by ranking up with Lokri the two now standing shoulder to shoulder in battle ready stances. Ach what ye got ye bloody self into Lokri?
The deaths of the two tileans came as a shock to the remaining two as they were now presented with two very angry and very vengful dwarfs.

Lokri tried his best to keep the assassins at arms length, but he was tiring and loosing blood from his wounds fast. The Tileans began to close in around him, surely to make the kill, knives held ready they smirked in malice at the dwarf whom they had managed to overpower. They came on for the killing stroke, Lokri prepared to take down as many as he could on his way out.
However, to as much amazement for Lokri as the Tileans, a dwarf came in, smashing aside two of the attackers as if they were children, their heads opened like blooming flowers as the dwarf Lokri now recognized to be Barek. "Ach what ye got your bloody self into The Tileans had not expected Lokri to have any companions to even out the numbers, and seeing that they had swiftly been reduced from six to two, their odds did not look good, they did not fancy their chances in a straight fight, so turned tail and ran, but not before Lokri and Barek could strike a few parting blows... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Lokri's attacks: 1 hit to legs of fleeing enemies, 6+5-4 = 7wounds 1 dead Tilean. Barek's attacks:2 hits, 6+4+6-3= 13 wounds 4+6-4=7 wounds 20 wounds to remaining enemy as he flees.
Barek: Full wounds Lokri: Needs medical attention Tileans: Need to see the funeral directors ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The Tileans turned to run, but Lokri dove forth, swinging his axe even as he descended to the floor, his hand axe shattered the Tilean's leg and erupted out the other side as the human fell to the floor in horror, his head smashing into the cold stone floor. Barek's attacker suffered a similar fate, as Barek caved the cowards spine with two mighty swings of his axe.
People came forth to discover what was happening, and the Bazaar guard came forth conspicuously with their crossbows raised to see what in Grugni's name was going on.
Catching his breath, Lokri turned to Barek. "A thank ye Barek Thorgison, the bastards jumped me while I wis on me way tae the stall, a saw the wretches eying me up in the tavern but thought naught o' it at the time." He turned to the bazaar guards who were looking at the humans who lay scattered about the hall.
"Lokri, what the bloody hell happened! Aren't these Manfredi and his lads?" The dwarf said with more than a mild distaste on his time worn face, as a bazaar guard, he was acquainted with Lokri since the engineer often worked there, but he couldn't grasp why such a fight could of started between two tradesmen. He also wonder who this other dwarf was, and why he didn't have a scratch on him. "Who the hell are ye and were ye from? Ne'er seen you around here before." The guard said with suspicion. "The Tileans have been complainin' I get all their customers for ages, seems the bastards thought they could solve the problem by gerrin' rid o' me! And have no doubt of this dwarf, he surely saved my life just then, I don't know where the bloody hell you lot was, but Barek here jumped in when I needed it most!" The guards looked confused, but they had no reason not to believe a respectable dwarf such as Lokri, and so they nodded and signaled to their manling helpers to get the things needed to clean up. "I'll take ye word for it Lokri, but ye need to get the temple o' Valya... Barek did ye say? Can ye help this lad get to the temple?"

As Lokri talked to the guards Barek loaded a new bolt into his crossbow but did not wind it up so as to prevent the loss of tension. He cleaned off his axe's head with a rag before returning his sheild to his back.
"I'll take ye word for it Lokri, but ye need to get the temple o' Valya... Barek did ye say? Can ye help this lad get to the temple?"
Ach tis nae a problem. Il get Lokri to the temple.
Barek saw the bloody visibly streaming from a few of Lokri's wounds and help support the otehr dwarf as they marched towards the temple with Lokri telling him the way.
Bloody 'ell Lokri, ye made a bloody mess around 'ere. HA!

"Aye, well it's nay my fault if they cut me up as a walk within' me own hold! Bloody Tileans! Try'n tae kill me just for business!" Lokri said with aggresion still in his voice as he pretended not to limp. "The girls will nay be happy when they see what the vagabonds did tae me face!" Lokri laughed, trying to forget his ordeal. "A bet them bloody Tileans had some gold on em, soon as am better I'll see if them guards will give me some compensation for their shoddy protection." Lokri continued grumbling about several things all the way to the temple.
[continued at the temple]
